What is the difference between Intel Core 2 Duo / Core 2 and DDR3 Intel Core i7?
I am not, because trying to choose a team game for it is better for a team game.
The i7 is the next generation of Intel CPU alignment. They are generally faster "clock cycle" than their Core 2 Quad / Duo predecessors (ie, a 2.7GHz i7 will be faster than a 2.7GHz Core 2). DDR3 is a type of RAM. DDR2 is the most common, but DDR3 is the latest type. DDR3 RAM * might * be faster than DDR2, but not always. DDR3 junk is slower than High-end DDR2 due to faulty memory latencies in the timeline. If you buy a DDR3 system memory, make sure you can not reduction Cheapo memory. As to what is best for gaming, a Core 2 Duo now, and i7 is better for future games. The current games do not take advantage of its quad-core and instead are more dependent on processor clock speed (which is why a dual 3GHz game better than the Quad 2.5GHz, despite 2×3 = 6 and 4×2.5 = 10). The next games will take advantage of quad cores, and then really shine on i7 Cores Core 2 Duo. His choice ultimately comes down to what games you want to play. If this is on the market now, a Core 2 Duo (like the E8600) would be the best option. If it's for the future, the i7 is a large (and expensive) choice.
